Nick Goodwin (BM14) Piccolo/3rd Flute, Round Rock Symphony. Substitute Flute, Austin Symphony. Flute/Piccolo, Ohio Light Opera. Won 3rd prize and “best performance of the newly commissioned work” in the Texas Flute Society Myrna Brown Competition. Placed in semifinals for 2016 NFA Young Artist Competition. New World Symphony Semifinalist. Currently maintaining a large private teaching studio in Austin, TX.
Michelle Stockman (BM12) is a flutist and piccolo player from New England who enjoys an active career in New York City. Principal flutist of LoftOpera and a freelancer with groups such as American Ballet Theater, New York City Opera, Philharmonia Orchestra of New York (PONY), and The Chelsea Symphony. Passionate about flute pedagogy and music education, she is a dedicated private instructor and previously served on faculty at The Fort Lee School of Music. In 2014, Michelle was awarded Second Prize in the New York Flute Club Competition. At the 40th Annual National Flute Association Convention in 2012, Michelle joined Janet Arms and Hartt colleagues in premiering pieces written by Hartt School Composers in Residence. Also at The Hartt School in 2009, she was the Third Prize Winner of the 9th Annual van Rooy Competition for Musical Excellence. Michelle holds both a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance from Mannes College The New School for Music and The Hartt School at The University of Hartford, respectively. Her primary instructors were Judith Mendenhall, Janet Arms, Melissa Mielens, and Terry D’Errico.

Kristen McGuire (BM11) Earned MM at Purchase College Conservatory of Music. Marketing position, American Ballet Theatre; Freelancer in NY; Co-founder of Ceto Ensemble, specializing in contemporary chamber music and premiering new works. Finalist in Byron Hester Flute Competition, 2015.
Kim Miller (BM11) Law student at Georgetown University; Intern at Copyright Office in the Office of Policy and International Affairs, 2014; helped on presentations for the Marrakesh Treaty which will help people who are visually impaired by making exceptions in copyright law so that books can be reproduced in formats that make it easier for them to read; will be working for Broadcasting Board of Governors, an agency that oversee’s all civilian radio broadcasts in other countries (mostly countries that don’t have a free press) in Summer 2015; Kim writes “I’m taking entertainment law and music law this semester. For music law I’m writing a paper that advocates for expanding the public performance right in sound recordings.I’m on the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law & Policy and over the summer I’ll be writing my note about how music education could help reduce poverty.”
Abigail Walsh (DMA10) Applied Music Specialist-Flute, University of Illinois Springfield since 2011. Instructor of Flute, Illinois College since 2015. Substitute flute/piccolo with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and the Millikin-Decatur Symphony Orchestra. While at Hartt performed with Hartford Opera Theater, taught technique classes at Hartt and through the Community Division and the Ethel Walker School, won second prize in the Washington Flute Society YAC, the Emeritus Recording competition, was a semi-finalist in the NFA Piccolo Artist Competition, and was a member of 20/20.

Nicole Granroth McCabe (MM10) Before graduating won the flute/piccolo position in Orquesta Sinfonica Sinaloa de las Artes in Culiacan, Mexico. Flute instructor, Escuela de Artes José Limón. Also performs with A Piacere (two flutes and piano) including a residency with the Festival Cultural Sinaloa in 2013.
Lisa Husseini (BM10) General Manager of Seraphic Fire and work as a consultant for iCadenza, a consulting group which works with musicians looking to launch projects and expand their careers. Earned MM at New England Conservatory.
Josefina Mutascu (MM08, GPD09) Substitute flute with Pacific Northwest Ballet Orchestra, Spokane Symphony and Auburn Symphony. Second flute, Yakima Symphony 2012-13; Runner-up, Second Flute Position, Spokane Symphony, 2013; Finalist, Boise Philharmonic, 2012; Finalist, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, 2009. While at Hartt won the Miami String Quartet Competition, and was a member of 20/20. In 2010 was a finalist in the NFA’s Orchestral Audition and Masterclass Competition; 2009 NFA Piccolo Masterclass competition alternate.
Rachel Maclary (BM09) Upon graduation won a position with the US Air Force Band of Liberty stationed at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. Currently a member of the Air Force Band of Mid-America stationed in Illinois where she performs flute and piccolo with the concert band, marching band,and the Midwest Winds woodwind quintet. The group performs concerts and does educational outreach across 10 states in the Midwest. While at Hartt won second place in the Chicago Flute Club YAC, Pittsburgh YAC, Miami String Quartet Competition, and was a member of 20/20.
Sarah Holmes (MM08) Assistant Professor, Music Catalog Librarian at Northern Illinois University. Freelancing and teaching in the Chicagoland area.
Jennifer Decinque (MM07) Employed with Young Concert Artists, Inc. (www.yc.org) YCA holds auditions each year for young musicians and gives the winners a 3 year management contract with New York, Boston and Washington DC recital debuts.
Jodi Faro Langellotti (BA00) Received MM from Boston University, Taught music for 8 years- now in retail management/training, In the Massachusetts Air National Guard Band of the Northeast- deployed to South West Asia last summer to perform for our troops on vocals and flute.
